Ear Infection Medicine
Is there any medicine that you can get Over The Counter for an ear infection for babies?
My son is 1 and I believe he might have an ear infection. I tried to make an appointment with a dr to get him checked out but they are booked until october. I’m just wondering if there is medicine for ear infections that you can buy over the counter.
I let them know that my son is sick. They still said they could not fit him in.
This is your regular pediatrician? If you have a regular doctor, he will get your child in the same day, or the next. (Or if he won’t, it’s time to look for a new doctor.) I’ve NEVER had to wait 2 months to get my child in for illness. They’ve always squeezed her in that day.
If you just cold-called a random doctor from the phone-book then no, she doesn’t have to see you right away.
There are no OTC antibiotics to treat an ear infection, and no way to diagnose it yourself. You can give Tylenol/Ibuprofen for the pain, but he does need to be checked by a doctor.
Options:
1. Take him to the ER.
2. Take him to a walk in clinic/doc-in-the-box.
3. If your community has a public health clinic, try taking him there.
And then find a regular doctor with whom you can establish a doctor-patient relationship.
